PREPARE THE SURFACE
Surface must be spotless, dry, and free of stray debris. Cracks and holes must be repaired, along with the removal of dust, loose objects, and protrusions.
In hot and dry weather, the surface may be moistened but not completely wet for better performance.
Bituminous application primer
Apply with a brush or roller to the full substrate covered area and let dry.
MEMBRANE
A bituminous waterproofing membrane created by mixing bitumen and SBS (Styrene Butadiene Styrene) polymers to achieve superior waterproofing and low temperature flexibility qualities. On top of a dimensionally stable reinforcement core made of mom-woven spun bond polyester rot-proof fabric, the polymerized bitumen was applied.
MEMBRANE BITUMINOUS APPLICATION
- On blinding concrete, a fully torched bituminous membrane must be applied with a minimum of 100mm end laps and 150mm side laps. Installation of the waterproofing membrane must be done with a torch fuelled by a propane cylinder, a trowel to seal the membrane's seams, and a knife for cutting.
- After being positioned correctly for torching, the membrane is rerolled without changing direction for about half of its length.
- The membrane is then re-unrolled, and after pushing the molten portion against the substrate, it is torched.
- Repeat until the membrane has completely adhered to the surface. The second membrane is then laid in the same manner, with an overlap of 150 millimetres at the end and 100 millimeters at the side
CONTROL BOARD
Azazel MS 30 is a high-performance, semi-rigid pre-formed protective board made of mineralized polymer bitumen that has been impregnated with rot-proof coating and covered on both sides with polyethylene film.
Control Board Application
- PROTECTION BOARD can be simply cut with a knife to fit any profile and is intended to be put over waterproofing membranes. Because the board is semi-rigid, it will not break when bent.
- The board may be heated using a gas torch and then welded into place, depending on the waterproofing system to ensure continuity, and be protected as above, a minimum of 300mm of the horizontal membrane must be left over to carry up the vertical surface.
- Inspection would be submitted for the Engineer's approval.
